Drilling, Assaying and Quality Control - Quality Assurance (QC-QA) Procedures

Drilling

  • Collars surveyed by GPS with final survey by DGPS or Transit and Theodolite
  • Down hole surveys completed every 50m
  • Diamond drill core and chips photographed
  • Logging of lithology, alteration and mineralization
  • Geotechnical logging
  • Density measurements
  • Sub-sampling of reverse circulation chips using a riffle splitter
  • One-half core of diamond drill core sampled using a diamond saw

Assaying

  • Sample preparation and assaying completed by SGS Mali SARL, a ISO9001:2008 certified laboratory based in Bamako, Mali
  • Dry, crush to 90% passing through a 2mm screen (3 kg sample), subsample by riffle splitter (1 – 1.5 kg sample) and pulverized to 85% passing through a 75um screen
  • Analyze 50 gram charge by fire assay with atomic absorption finish

QC-QA

  • Quality control samples (standards, duplicates and blanks) are inserted into the sample stream by Bullman to monitor the results from the laboratory
  • Quality control samples make up approximately 10% of the samples submitted to the laboratory
  • Laboratory completes their own internal quality control procedures
  • Quality control samples reviewed for each batch of samples before assay results are reported to the public
